§ career in the moving industry started in 1977 with Jimmy Wilson, Jr. Storage of Lancaster, an agent for Allied Van Lines - the company was purchased by Jack Treier in 1981 and the name was changed to Jack Treier, Inc. - became an agent for United Van Lines a few years later
§ spent a couple of years in the early 1980s with the former Lancaster Van & Storage Company, then an agent for Mayflower Transit Company
§ prior to involvement in the moving industry was in radio broadcasting working as an air personality and news reporter - also spent time as Sales & Marketing Manager for a radio syndication company - enjoyed radio so much that continued working in radio on a part-time basis for many years after changing primary career to moving - last sat behind the microphone in March 2006
§ holds a Transportation & Traffic Management Certificate from Penn State University and has attended numerous industry association and van line sponsored training programs
§ previously served as a member of the board of directors for the National Institute of Certified Moving Consultants - past president of Delta Nu Alpha, Chapter 26 (transportation fraternity) - past president of the Lancaster Traffic Club - former board member of Pennsylvania Moving & Storage Associates - active with Greater Houston Movers Association, Southwest Movers Association, American Moving & Storage Association, and Allied Professional Sales Association
§ previously nominated several times for Allied Van Lines' Moving Counselor of the Year competition - recipient of the CA Star designation - currently ranked as one of Allied's Top 100 Consumer Salespeople in the country
§ in the community, retired after 20 years of service on my local draft board for the Selective Service Administration - former member of several service clubs, as well as, a few community, political, & fraternal organizations - active in church
